GYF Donate Sixty Five (65) Benches to LEA Primary School Gangare Jos.

Today being 24/10/2023, Gangare Youth Forum (GYF) handed over sixty five benches as a gesture to support the education of pupils in LEA Primary Gangare. The School Head Teacher (Mrs Merry Yakubu) received the donation on behalf of Jos North Education Secretary at the school premises. The chairman of the forum in his remark commended the Head Teacher's dedication in managing the school. Door is open for more donations as the forum targets 200 benches to the school. On March 2022, GYF facilitated the construction of a water borehole by a concern philanthropy at MASALLACIN ME WALAHAULA , now collaborate with the community in maintaining the borehole

GANGARE YOUTH FORUM (GYF) ACTIVITIES

GYF as a Community Based Organization CBO has thematic areas on Education, Peace Building, Youth Empowerment, Water and Sanitation and other community related services. GYF had carried out several projects through self sponsorship, collaborations and partnerships within and beyond Gangare community.

What We Do

Gangare Youth Forum (GYF) was founded in 2002 by a group of a likeminded friends for the purpose of providing an ambulance for the use of Gangare community. After a successful purchase of the ambulance, these youths realized the impact of unity and association and later decided to form an organization that will serve as a forum for the promotion of community services. GYF is a registered entity with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and engages in community services such as sanitation, youth’s sensitization, mediation among others.

GYF involves in promoting girl-child education, scholarship offer to orphans and the less privileges, payment of school leaving examinations such as WAEC, NECO, JSSCE and Common Entrance examination. The major funding for GYF is through voluntary contribution/tax from members, solicitation and support from well-meaning individuals. GYF had from inception paid senior school certificate examination fee to about 50 students, common entrance examination of 100 students annually since 2015, and presently enrolling 43 students between primary and secondary and higher levels.
